Obituary

Ephraim Godby, 91 of Aston, died February 29, 2012 at Riddle Memorial Hospital.

Born in Somerset, KY, he lived in Milmont Park before moving to his late residence in 1961.

Mr. Godby was a painter for Scott Paper Company for 30 years, retiring in 1983.

A U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, he was a Shipfitter 2nd Class, serving from 1939 to 1945 on both the USS Hopkins and the USS Hector and he received the American Campaign Medal and the Asian Pacific Campaign Medal.

Mr. Godby was an avid bowler at the Conchester Lanes where he had many friends. He was formerly active with the Aston Middletown Little League, but most important to him was his family.

He was son of the late Charles Oliver and Virgie Taylor Godby, husband of the late Teresa C. Meyers Godby, his wife of 50 years, who died April 1, 1996 and brother of the late Clyde Godby.

Survivors: his children; Charles O. Godby (Mihaela), Deborah Grove (Barry), Robert D. Godby (Stephanie) and James E. Godby (Marcie), his nephew Wayne Godby and his wife Janice, his brother; Roscoe Godby , his sister-in-law; Helene Robinson and also six grandchildren; Michele, Michael, Hope, Bobby, Laura and Christine.

Funeral Service 11:00AM Monday, March 5, 2012 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston. Visitation; after 10:00AM at the funeral home.
Burial Mt. Hope Cemetery.
