Emory Acey Manning, 93, formerly of Savannah, GA, died April 22, 2020 at Sterling Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Media, PA. Born in Browntown, GA, he was the son of the late Acey Virgil and Etta Louise (Warner) Manning, and moved to Pennsylvania August 7, 2014.
Emory served in the US Army in Japan from January 12, 1945 - August 31, 1946. He worked for the City of Savannah, GA, doing maintenance for 20 years from August 12, 1968 until retiring July 1, 1988. Emory enjoyed his garden and fishing.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Olan Manning, Letha Manning Johnson, Ruby Manning Hickox and Blanche Manning Register.
Emory is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Jeannette Underwood; his children, Carolyn Loveless-Caputo, of Brookhaven, PA, Nancy Manning, of Aston, PA, Betty Jean Moreland, of Belton, TX, Eugene Manning, of Waynesboro, PA, Rose Lee (Joyce) Skillern, of Temple, TX and Shirley Ann (Wendy) Gainan, of Corpus Christi, TX; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be at a later date in Savannah, GA.
