Elsie A. D'Angelo, 85, of Ridley Park, died November 20, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Nikoley Zimath; and the wife of the late Anthony F. D'Angelo her husband of forty five years who died November 17, 1993.
Elsie graduated from Eddystone High School. A homemaker, Elsie previously worked at Westinghoue Corporation as an administrative assistant before starting her family. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ridley Park.
Elsie bowled in several leagues, played cards weekly with her card club and served as secretary and vice president for the Ridley Park Seniors. She also wrote monthly articles about the seniors which appeared in the Town Talk newspaper. She was active with her children's activities while they were growing up and supported her grandchildren with their many activities.
Elsie was a Phillies and Eagles fan, loved the casinos, history, playing the piano, reading and solving the cryptogram. She enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach, loved animals and had many dogs during her lifetime. She collected food and money for the United Methodist Church food pantry and played and called bingo until suffering a stroke in March of 2010.
SURVIVORS; Her children, Diane Traband (Fred), Gloria Phillips (late Stanley), Frank D'Angelo (Terry), Allen D'Angelo (Joan) and Valeri D'Angelo (Phil). Nine Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren.
SERVICES; 10:30AM Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park.
