Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth A. McLaughlin, who left us peacefully after a valiant battle with melanoma. Elizabeth was affectionately known to her friends as Liz and to her family as Betty. She was a beacon of light and strength to all who knew her. Born on August 13, 1963, Liz's journey was one of love, laughter, and unwavering courage.

Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of Elizabeth Ann McAllister McLaughlin and the late William Thomas McLaughlin, she lived in Morton before moving to Woodlyn 15 years ago. Liz was a graduate of Sharon Hill High School and owned and operated Ocean Breeze Pool Services before retiring in 2022.

Liz's legacy is carried on by her children: Elizabeth Iannelli (Frank), Jennifer Howell, and Thomas Howell. She was a proud and loving grandmother to seven grandchildren: Emily, Stephen, Hannah, Chloe, Carter, Thomas, and Noah, whose lives were brightened by her endless love and support.

She is survived by her loving boyfriend, Charles Nevin, who stood by her side for the past 15 years, offering love and comfort through her final days. Liz's memory will also be treasured by her six siblings: William McLaughlin (Mary), James McLaughlin (Debra), Kimberley McLaughlin (Joseph Hart), Michael McLaughlin, Patrick McLaughlin, and John McLaughlin. Her large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins will miss her warmth, guidance, and the joy she brought to their lives.

Liz's presence was a gift, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She approached life with a rare combination of strength and kindness, touching the lives of many with her generosity and compassion. Liz's spirit, love, and lessons will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her remarkable life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to support Elizabeth's final expenses through the GoFundMe campaign: https://www.gofundme.com/f/funeral-for-elizabeth-mclaughlin .
