Obituary

The "nicest person in the world" AKA Elizabeth Anne (Betty) Kelley, age 93, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 17, 2022.  She loved everyone that she met and everyone who met her loved her.  Her kind heart fueled her desire to see the good in all people.

Her Catholic faith was extremely important to her daily life.

Born on September 3, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA, during the great depression, Betty was the third of four daughters born to the late Vincent and Emma (MacNamara) Kearney.  Betty was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia.

At the age of 18, Betty met the love of her life, Donald V. Kelley who predeceased her in 2007.  They had their first date on St. Patrick's Day in 1948, got engaged one year later on St. Patrick's Day and were married on November 5, 1949.  Together they had six children, fourteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.  Betty adored her family and was always attending family member's birthdays, sporting, school, and musical events.  She loved all things Betty Boop and made the best sugar cookies.  Betty visited the beach, her happy place, as often as she could.

Betty was happiest as a homemaker, but also worked at Blocks Distributors and was a Personal Account Manager for Fidelity Bank.  She was fondly referred to as "Nan" by many more than just her grandchildren.  Betty loved water walking with her sister in her more active years.  She had "coffee" friends by the hundreds.  No matter how elderly she got, she was always willing to offer to help in anyway she could.

Betty is survived by her children, Patricia Russo (Jim), Teri Volpone (Tony), Sister Donna Kelley, IHM, Vincent Kelley (Michele) and Joseph Kelley (Kathy), her grandchildren, Jimmy (Lisa), John (Michelle), Tricia (Chris), Tony, Michelle, Vincent (Kimmy), Michael (Julie), Matt, Melissa (Bob), Joey, Shane, and Cole, and her great-grandchildren, Domenic (Bailee), Patrick, Jay, Nicholas, Gabriella, Ryan, Conner, Owen, Ava, Claire, Reese, and Marielle, as well as her sister, Dolores Brough, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her loving husband, Don, her daughter, Bettyann Sullivan, and two grandchildren, Thomas Sullivan and Brian Sullivan.
