Elizabeth J. "Betty" Howanski 92, of Crum Lynne, a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, wife, mother, grand mom, great-gram, godparent, teacher, tutor, guardian, homemaker, neighbor, parishioner, gardener, caretaker, reader, writer, author, seamstress, crocheter, gift giver, mentor, party planner, listener, matriarch and friend, died July 10, 2021 at her home.

Betty was born in Dickson City, PA having grown up in Justus and has lived at her late residence since 1943.

She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1946 and Widener University, class of 1988.

She was a 7 ^th and 8 ^th grade teacher at Our Lady of Peace and St. Rose of Lima Schools and also worked at the D'Ignazio's Towne House in Media.

Betty was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church. She loved her family and friends, her beloved farm, birds and springer spaniels; even the grouchy ones.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, John W. Howanski, who died in 1989; her daughter Mary Beth A. Leopold, who died in 2017; parents Stanley and Stella Pacanowski Demboski and her brother William Demboski.

She was the devoted mother to John W. Howanski, Jr. (Beverly), Michael P. Howanski, Joseph S. Howanski (Betsy), S. William Howanski (Kris), S. Jone McGrath (David) and Raymond F. Howanski (Leslie); cherished grandmother to 23 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; and sister of Joan Kryak.

Funeral Mass 11:00AM Friday, July 16, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022.

Visitation 6:00 to 9:00PM on Thursday and 9:00 to 10:15AM Friday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
