Elizabeth Kathleen Hazard (nee O'Hara), 92 of Wallingford died peacefully at home on October 1, 2026 at her home She was born in San Diego, CA, the daughter of the late Francis Paul and Grace Thomas O'Hara, She had lived in New Haven, CT and San Francisco, CA before moving to the Swarthmore, PA area in 2017.
She graduated from Convent of the Sacred Heart, Menlo, California and went on to Stanford University where she met her first spouse, Douglas Wellman Pinto. She later married Geoffrey Cornell Hazard, Jr.
She was an avid tennis player, talented pianist and a very competitive pool shark towards the end of her life. Many happy summers were spent at Stinson Beach, California where she enjoyed family get togethers, beach walks, bird watching and card games. While in San Francisco she reunited with some college friends and established an active hiking group called “The Hat Ladies” She will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Survived by her partner Kenneth Wright, her five children with Douglas Pinto: Susan Pinto, Jennifer Pinto Martin, Douglas Pinto, Jr., Carolyn Pinto Haury (David), John Pinto (Molly) and her son with her second spouse, Geoffrey Cornell Hazard III (Hayley). as well as three step-children, James Hazard (Christina), Katherine Hazard and Robin Hazard Ray (David). In addition there are 26 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, 3 nephews and 3 nieces She was predeceased by both husbands, an infant daughter, her sister Carol Ann Rhoads,and her son in law Muscoe Martin Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to SF Achievers (https://www.sfachievers.org/), a program providing scholarships and mentorship to low income students in San Francisco.
