Eleanor Webb Ross, 94, of Wallingford died on June 12, 2026, at her home. Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Frank and Ellen O'Reilly Webb, she had lived in Ridley Park before moving to Plush Mills Senior Living 17 years ago.
Eleanor was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1949, and received a bachelor's degree in education from Immaculata College in 1953. During her time in high school and college she played the violin in orchestras. Before her children were born, she had been employed as a Music Teacher in the Ridley School District. Eleanor was a long-time member of St. Madeline Catholic Church in Ridley Park. She played the organ at St. Madeline Church and at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Drexel Hill. Eleanor was a long-time summer resident of Avalon, NJ, where she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was the loving wife of the late Donald B. Ross, mother of Brian Ross and Eileen Ross Boyle (Kevin), grandmother of Kevin Boyle (Maria), Bridget Boyle, and Monica Shiber (Tyler), great-grandmother of Miles Boyle, Brady Boyle, and Sullivan Shiber, and she was the sister of the late Frank Webb, Jr.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call 9:30 to 10:15 AM. Burial will follow Mass at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
