Eleanor Lackus Potenburg, 86, of Ridley Park, died June 26, 2012 at Taylor Hospital.
She was born and lived in Philadelphia before moving to her late residence over 50 years ago.
Early in her life, she was employed as an accountant and worked for several businesses in the area. Later, she owned and operated a coin and stamp concession at Booth's Corners market along with her husband "Hub Cap Joe."
Eleanor was a highly intelligent creative woman of many talents and many interests. She was knowledgeable in antiques and collectibles; skilled mechanically, could fix anything. She enjoyed gardening and all needlework which she shared within numeral family members and friends. Gifted musically, Eleanor played the piano and organ and kept current with news and learning channels.
She was wife of the late Joseph J. Potenburg, who died in 2000, mother of the late Joseph J. Potenburg, Jr., who died in 1973, daughter of the late Joseph and Theophilia Rube Lackus, sister of the late Joseph Lackus, Jr. and Stanley Lackus, Sr.; aunt of the late Stanley Lackus, Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Anna Ida Pikes and her brother, John Lackus, nieces Anna Marie O'Brien Marshall and Joan Elder and her nephew Albert Lackus; and many great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral Mass: 10:00AM Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call after 9:30AM.
Burial: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery
