Eleanor M. "Ellie" Davitt (nee Cleary), 94, of Swarthmore died on September 27, 2023.  Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Metzler Cleary.
Ellie was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls, class of 1947.  She was last employed as a waitress at the Springfield Country Club and had previously worked at the Longhorn Ranch.  Ellie was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching game shows but most important was time with her cherished family.
She was the loving mother of Kathy Martin, Michael Davitt (deceased), Theresa Scola, Peggy Brisgone (deceased), Betty Ann Davitt (deceased), Bill Davitt and Trish Davitt, sister of the late Elizabeth McGettigan and Eileen Law, she is also survived by nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Liturgy 11 AM Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 10 AM.  Burial private.
