Eino A. Kauranen, 81

Eino A. Kauranen, 81, of Aston, PA died November 4, 2010 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center. Born in Quincy, MA he was son of the late Aatu and Katri Vantanen Kauranen.

Mr. Kauranen has been a resident of Aston since 1958 coming from Prospect Park, PA He was a mechanical engineer at Westinghouse for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston. He was a member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Aston as well as a member of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Aston Seniors. Eino enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was an avid sports fan and and was especially a fan of the Phillies. Mr. Kauranen also enjoyed going to the casinos and horse races.

Mr. Kauranen was predeceased by his wife Anita Jane Kauranen and his brothers Waino and Reino Kauranen.

Survivors: his wife of 25 years Doris A. Boncek Kauranen, his daughters Debra Harrington (John) of Newark, DE and Kate Kauranen (William Moore) of Middletown Township. Step-children Susan Kozak (Michael) of Aston, Margot McElwee (Fred) of Linwood and John DiAddezio of Eddystone. He was the brother of Impi Heiman of Florida and Aarne Kauranen of Georgia. He was also survived by seven grandchildren.

Funeral service 11 AM Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Road, Aston where friends may call after 10 AM. Burial Mount Hope Cemetery.
