Edward J. Novatka, 87 of Eddystone, died June 1, 2011 at home.

Born in Shenandoah, PA he lived in Eddystone for the past 62 years.

Mr. Novatka was a mechanic at Boeing-Vertol Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, also a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Peace Council and enjoyed woodcarving projects, puzzles and most of all his family. He was a WW II, U.S. Navy veteran.

He was son of the late Alaxander and Lottie Slatzky Novatka and was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors; his wife of 64 years, Julia Vecchio Novatka, children Ronald Novatka (JoAnne) and Carol Gartside (Ben), also six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral Liturgy 10:30AM Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call after 9:00AM. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
