Obituary

Edward L. Dold, 83 of Woodlyn died September 7, 2011 at Crozer Chester Medical Center.

Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Frank and Magdalena Schuetz Dold and has live in Woodlyn for over 54 years.

Mr. Dold was a General Superintendent of Transportation for the former Philadelphia Electric Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1989 and previously worked for General Motors.

He was a U.S. Army veteran during WWII and the Korean War where he served at Army Chemical Center, MD.

Mr. Dold was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church. He was Past Section Chairman of the Society of Automotive Engineers for the Philadelphia region, Past President of the Michigan State Alumni Association of the Philadelphia Branch and the American Legion.He earned his Engineering Degree from Michigan State College in 1950.

Mr. Dold served on many committees for transportation issues for the Utility industry, spoke at industry conferences and published technical articles regarding fleet management.

Currently undergoing his twelfth years of kidney dialysis at FMC Swarthmore Dialysis Center where he was treated by a kind and caring staff. He also made many friends with his fellow patients.
Mr. Dold was a kind and considerate person known for helping neighbors and family. He was an avid reader, a fan of the Phillies and Eagles and formerly enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Isabelle Tracey Dold, his brothers Elmer Dold and Ralph Dold, his sister Dorothy Lusch and many nephews and nieces, including LuAnne Tracey Stewart, whom he helped to raise.

Funeral Mass 10:00AM Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park, PA 19033 where friends may call from 9 to 9:45 AM. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the above church.
