Edward G. Brady, Jr., 62 of Ridley Park, died May 27, 2014 at Vitas Hospice at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Edward George and Helen Baccelli Brady, Sr., he lived in Southwest Philadelphia before moving to his late residence 36 years ago.
Ed was a graduate of Bishop Neumann High School, class of 1969. He retired from the US Air Force with a rank for Master Sergeant after 36 years of service which included serving during the Gulf War. He was last employed by the Department of Defense and also worked security at Villanova games and for the Phillies during the World Series in 2008. Ed was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, he also enjoyed playing sports and had a tryout for the Phillies, but most important was his love and devotion to his family and friends.
Survivors: loving husband of Nancy D. Pitera Brady, his wife of forty years, devoted father of Michael S. Brady (Annette) and Megan Brady (Kevin Dukes), thoughtful nephew of Marge Brady, Cass Conover and Bob Brady, also many cousins and friends.
Funeral Mass: 11 AM Saturday at The Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park
Visitation: 7 to 9 PM Friday and 9:15 to 10:15 AM Saturday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery
