Edna Soltanuk (nee Faust), age 100, of Pennsville, NJ died on August 21, 2024. Born in a German village in Poland, the daughter of the late Jacob and Lydia Schroeder Faust, she and her parents immigrated to the United States in 1933, settling in Philadelphia. She lived in Lester for many years before moving to Pennsville five years ago.
Edna was a graduate of Germantown High School and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque R.C. Church in Essington where she was a member of the Legion of Mary. Edna and her late husband, Myron, owned and operated The Vittle Vat in Southwest Philadelphia. She enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and her summer home in North Wildwood with her husband where she shared many happy times with family and friends. The most important part of Edna's life was her loving family, especially her cherished grand and great-grandchildren.
She was the loving wife of the late Myron Soltanuk, mother of Mark Soltanuk (Toni), Susan Von Borsig (late Axel), Vicki Nielsen (Jim) and the late Celeste Donahue (Chris), sister of the late Gina, Lucia, Edie and Jacob, Jr., grandmother of Stephanie Donahue (Jim), Kelly Hearn (Nate), Heidi Tumey (Brad), Jimmy Nielsen (Kourtney), Conrad Von Borsig (Kara), Joe Soltanuk (Elissa) and Katie Stamper (Bruce), she is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Holy Rosary R.C. Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 where relatives and friends may call between 10 and 11AM. Burial private.
Memorial gifts to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at http://www.stjude.org would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
