Edith M. Perrone Hagerty, 86, of Maris Grove died November 3, 2018 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna Ryan Perrone, she was raised in South Philadelphia and lived in Milmont Park for 56 years before moving to her late residence 10 years ago.
Edith was a graduate of John Hallahan High School, class of 1949. She was employed as a secretary at Villanova University for 14 years before retiring in 1996 and had previously been employed by Hoover Vacuum Cleaners and MetLife Insurance Company. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church a former member of Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C Church where she was the former Director of the CCD Program. Edith was also a member of The Media Great Book Group and Ladies Card Club and was a former member of the Adoptive Mother's Group with Catholic Charities.
She was wife of the late Maurice J. "Bud" Hagerty who died on July 28, 2007 after 54 years of marriage and she was sister of the late Frank Perrone, Gus Perrone, Catherine Marinucci and Helen Moore.
She is survived by her sons; Patrick J. (Margaret), Richard M. (Carolyn) and Michael M. Hagerty, her siblings Elizabeth "Betty" Strauman and John Perrone, her grandsons Matthew (Jess), Shawn (Dawn) and Kyle, also six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Saturday at Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church, 990 Fairview Rd, Swarthmore, PA where friends may call 9:15 to 10:15 AM.
Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
