E. Lorraine Spencer, 82 of Swarthmore formerly of Chester, died December 15, 2010 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Born in Clarks Summit, PA daughter of the late Gerald E. and Leila B. Tressler Spencer.
Miss Spencer was a Registered Nurse for the American Red Cross. She was a member of the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, was a chairperson of the Bible Study Group and a member of the Book Club. She was the former President of The Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross. She was a member of Ridley Park Seniors, Hearts and Hand Sewing Group and was a volunteer at the Springfield Library. Miss Spencer was an avid reader, she enjoyed traveling and Celtic music, but most important was being with her family and friends.
Miss Spencer was sister of the late Henry Spencer, Marcia Spencer, Arlene McKay and Gladys McLaughlin.
Survivors: her sister Gloria Delp of Bethlehem, PA, her caregiver Janet Haggherty of Wallingford, also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-niece & great-nephews, and Christopher Rose whom she cared for since birth.
Memorial Service: 11 AM Thursday, at the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church, 300 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park where friends may call after 10 AM.
Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery
