Duane E. Borchert, Sr., 81 of Ridley Park died March 19, 2016 at Presbyterian Hospital. Born in Heriem, MN, he was a son of the late Emery V. and Laura Schuster Borchert and resided in Drexel Hill before moving to his late residence 55 years ago.

Duane served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War and was employed by Ridley School District as a custodian for 14 years. He previously worked at Clifton Precision from 1959-1991. Duane was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed being with his family and attending their sporting events. He also enjoyed horse racing, boxing and the casinos.

Duane was predeceased by his son, Duane Emery Borchert, Jr., who died in 1957 and his siblings, Alvonne Berzick and Dwight Borchert.

Survivors: loving husband of Margaret M. Leach "Peggy" Borchert, his wife of 59 years; father of Sharon Cloud (Emil), Dawn Scott (Rick), Peggy Doubet (Mark) and Duane E. Borchert, Jr. (Kris); brother of Gloria Larson (Lars) and Darwin Borchert (Bev); also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
