Dorothy J. Schleicher Starr, 97, of Ridley Park died January 23, 2016 at the Taylor Hospice Residence. Born in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Leonard and Della Potthoff Schleicher, she had been a resident of Ridley Park for the past 52 years.
Dorothy was a graduate of Chester High School and was employed at Westinghouse for 25 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Ridley Park Seniors and loved animals and traveling. Dorothy was an avid Phillies fan and was devoted to her family.
She was wife of the late James J. Starr who died on October 29, 1981 and sister of the late Helen McNamee and Herbert S. Schleicher who died during World War II in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Survivors: mother of Robert J. Starr and Bonnie L. Starr-D'Agostino; sister of Geraldine Parker; also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
