Dorothy E. Sciarra (nee Mills), age 87 of Swarthmorewood passed peacefully on Friday Sept. 9, 2016 surrounded by her family. Homemaker, world traveler, seamstress, cook, gardener, and an avid bowler she was born in Philadelphia to the late Harry and Catherine Moran Mills she resided in Swarthmorewood for 60 years. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Sciarra, infant daughter Dorothy and granddaughter Christina.
Survived by her children, Carol Sciarra, Mariann Berkheimer (Ron), John Sciarra (Carolanne) and Dorothy Owens-Sciarra (Gene) 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and her beloved cats, Rusty and Brice.
A Funeral mass will be held on 11:00am Wednesday, September 14 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 990 Fairview Rd.,Swarthmore, PA 19081 where family and friends may call from 9:45am – 10:45am Interment S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
