Dorothy Newquist
Former Secretary


Of Wallingford, died February 3, 2011 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Born in Upland, she was the daughter of the late Viola and Leroy Garrett.


Mrs. Newquist was a resident of Wallingford for eleven years and previously resided in Chester. She was a secretary at Widener University for twenty-five years, retiring in 1986. A founding member of the former Calvary Reformed Presbyterian Church, she was also a member of the Church of the Saviour in Wayne. Mrs. Newquist was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking.


She was the wife of the of the late Gerald G. Newquist, who died December 26, 1999 after 58 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by one sister and two brothers.


Survivors: her daughter Gerry Newquist of Wallingford, and two nephews.


Funeral Service and Visitation: 11 AM Tuesday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park where friends may call after 10 AM.


Burial: Edgewood Memorial Park.
