Dorothy Moore Quartermus, 92, of Christiana, PA died on August 24, 2015 at Harrison House Christiana. Born in Chester, she was daughter of the late Harry J. and Anna Bell Moore, and lived in Aston before moving to her late residence five years ago.


Dorothy was employed by A& P Food Stores as a cashier before she retired in 1983 and previously worked for Acme Markets.

She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph and a former member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church where she volunteered and was a member of the Sodality. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.


She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Thomas Quartermus, who died on December 19, 1981; and her siblings, Anna Thomas, Teresa Volpe, Sara M. Darlington, Harry J. Moore, Jr. and Francis Moore.


Dorothy was the mother of Patricia Ann Northrip (Kenneth) and James T. Quartermus (Charlotte); and also survived by five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.


Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, where friends may call from 9-9:45 AM.


Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery
