Obituary

Dorothy C. Batter (nee Yarina), 96, of Aston died on April 5, 2024.  Born in Exeter, PA the daughter of the late Andrew and Nellie Alexhunas Yarina, she had been a resident of Aston and the Church of St. Joseph since 1952.

Dorothy was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1946 and previously owned and operated Thrifty Three Thrift Shop in Sharon Hill and Chester along with her husband and friends.  She had been a Girl Scout Leader and was an avid cheerleader for all of her grandchildren's sporting events.  Dorothy's optimism and positive spirituality brought happiness to everyone that she met.  Her message to all was to Praise the Lord and give thanks for Our Lord's Blessings.

She was the wife of the late Francis J. "Skeeter" Batter for 66 years, mother of Ronald Batter (Mary), James Batter (Maria) and Mary Lou Pierson (Larry), sister of Albert Yarina and the late Valeria Surynt, she is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral Mass 10 AM Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Road Aston where relatives and friends may call 8:45 to 9:45 AM.  Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
