Doris M. Ruddy (nee MacDonald), 96 formerly of Ridley Park and Rehoboth Beach, DE died on April 6, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Ethel Mehrman MacDonald Morris.
Doris was a graduate of John Bartram High School, class of 1946 and enjoyed a career as a realtor for Stapleton West in Springfield and more recently as a property manager for Tunnell Companies in Long Neck, DE. She had been a member of the Church of St. Madeline in Ridley Park where she was a member of the Sodality. Doris was also a member of the Diamond State Marine Corps Ladies Auxiliary and was an avid singer with the Senior Center Chorus in Lewes, DE. She was a cancer survivor and a trained survivor counselor, she also participated for many years in the Relay for Life. Doris was proud of her Scottish heritage and the most important part of her life was her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Patrick D. Ruddy, mother of Terry Jones (Maggie), Karen Jones Pushkar (Ronald), Patrice "Patty" Ruddy Rzaca, Patrick Ruddy (Debra), Denise Ruddy and the late Tom Ruddy, sister of John "Jack" MacDonald and the late Stuart and Robert MacDonald, step-sister of the late Robert Morris and Marilyn Mustaro, she is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Monday, April 14, 2025 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call 9 to 10:15 AM. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
