Doris R. Fratta French, 68
of Garnet Valley, died November 18, 2010 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
Born in Baltimore, MD she was daughter of the late Raphael and Doris Depkin Fratta.


Mrs. French had lived in Garnet Valley for the past seven years, previously living in Thornton, PA.

She was employed by the West Chester Area School District and taught at Hillsdale Elementary School for 15 years retiring in 2007. She was a graduate of the University of Maryland and received her Masters Degree from West Chester University.


Mrs. French was a loving wife for 46 years, a caring mother and a wonderful Mom Mom to her two grandchildren. She was a volunteer at Chester County Cares, her church and at Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals. She loved spending time at the Cape May shore being surrounded by her family and a host of friends. Doris was an animal lover, she especially loved her West Highland Terriers Dizzy and Casey. She was a woman who touched so many peoples lives and she will be forever missed by everyone.


Survivors: Husband Robert L. French, children; Andrea R. French (Matthew Carpenter) of Washington, D.C., Elaine H. French of West Chester and Lauren E. Hammond(Matthew) of Downingtown. Grandmother of Owen Hammond and Loie Hammond.


Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Tuesday at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Chester Heights, where friends may call 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM.

Burial: Adjoining church cemetery
