Doris A. McKenna Chalfant, 83, of Brookhaven, died July 16, 2012 at her home. Born in Chester, she resided there prior to moving to her late residence 62 years ago. Doris was last employed as a waitress at the Holiday Inn in Essington, and had previously worked as a welder at Sun Ship Building Dry Dock.
Doris and her late husband owned sulky horses at the former Brandywine Race Track. She also loved trips to the casinos and horse racing, but most important was her devotion to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was wife of the late Albert M. Chalfant, Jr., who died June 6, 2010, daughter of the late William and Constantina Speorl McKenna and sister of the late William McKenna, Donald McKenna, Vivian Preston and Joan Manete.
Survivors: mother of Constance J. "Connie" Carducci, Albert M. Chalfant, III (Donna) and Jeffrey D. Chalfant, grandmother of Jim, Kim, Dennis, Albert, Todd, Michelle and Dylan, also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service: 11 AM Friday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Road, Aston
Visitation: after 10 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Burial: Lawn Croft Cemetery
