Doris J. Carey, born December 5, 1947, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. A longtime resident of Aston, Pennsylvania, Doris most recently resided in Boothwyn, Pennsylvania. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and beloved friend.
Family was at the center of Doris’ world. She cared deeply for the people she loved and would do anything for them. Her generosity, devotion and unwavering love for her family and husband will remain among her greatest legacies. Doris had a love for life and for making memories.
She loved to travel, discovering new places and sharing experiences with the people she loved. She also enjoyed crafting and could often be found creating something with her hands. Music brought her great joy, especially attending concerts and listening to live music.
Doris is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Carey, III.
Her loving daughters, Michele Harron Mader and Jaqueline Harron Gerrity.
Her adoring sons-in-law, Ralph Mader and Larry Gerrity.
Her stepson, Thomas Carey, IV (Melissa).
Her grandchildren, Jesse Mader, Geena Gommer, Carlie Mefford, Devin Mader, Brittany Short and Leslie Gardner (Steve).
Her great-grandsons, Steven and Jameson Bailey.
Her step-grandchildren, Thomas Carey, V, Daniel Carey, Daniel Gerrity and Meghan Gerrity.
Her sisters-in-law, Diane Wakefield and Lisa Heckman.
Doris is also survived by her beloved dog, Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Harron Mefford and mother-in-law, Millie Carey.
Doris will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through the family she cherished so deeply and the countless memories she created with them. To her family, she was the strongest woman they ever knew—a woman whose love, strength and devotion will live on in all of them.
A visitation will begin at 10 AM on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.
