Donna McQuillan Luongo, 52 of Ridley Park, died July 10, 2011 at Taylor Hospital.

Born in Upland, she was a lifelong resident of Ridley Park.

Donna was a graduate of Ridley High School, Class of 1976 and
attended Temple University. She was owner/operator of DM
Communications, which she founded in 1994.


She started her broadcasting career as a Desk Assistant at KYW News Radio.Donna then became a sports anchor/reporter for WILM News Radio, as well as an On-air talent at WHYY-TV Channel 12 in Wilmington.

Donna took great pride in being Philadelphia's first female anchor and talk show host at WIP radio, then later, at UPI Radio Network in Washington, DC. She also taught at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Cherry Hill, NJ.


Donna was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church and the local
chapter of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) as well as the Delaware Sports Writers Association and served
as V.P. of The Philadelphia Sports Writers Association.

Donna got her break covering the Philadelphia Firebirds hockey team and then went on to cover all major Philadelphia Sports teams. She enjoyed music and all sports, but most important to her was her family.


Donna was the daughter of the late Iris I. Campo McQuillan.

Survivors; her husband Michael A. Luongo, Jr.; her father Donald H. McQuillan and her brother Donald D. McQuillan, all of Ridley Park.

Funeral Mass 10:00AM Friday, July 15, 2011 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022.

Visitation Thursday 7 to 9PM and
Friday 8:30 to 9:15AM at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park.

Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
