Donald J. Grieco, 76, of Swarthmore died on April 11, 2023.  Born in Chester, the son of the late George and Helen King Grieco, he lived in Glenolden before moving to Swarthmore 43 years ago.

Don was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1964 and proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He had been employed as a supervisor and service technician at Konica-Minolta for 40 years before his retirement in 2013.

Some of his favorite pastimes were spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; he rarely missed a game or special event they participated in. On most days he was engulfed in a new book or enjoying the beautiful weather and the simple things in life, but summertimes were for enjoying many days at the family home in Cape May. You could always find him with a Wawa coffee in hand and a smile on his face. He was quick witted, kept his family laughing, and was always there when you needed him.  Don's welcoming handshakes and hugs were legendary within his close friends and family who will certainly carry on the tradition of 'The Grieco Hug' for future generations.

Don was the loving husband of 54 years to Patricia A. Russo Grieco, father of Donald M. Grieco (Christine), Gina Maria McCarney (Joseph) and Lorrie Barclift (Geoffrey), grandfather of Jacob, Gianna, Tyler, Zachary, Joseph and Ryan, brother of Geraldine McClurg and the late Joan College and George Grieco, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Liturgy 1:00PM Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 12:00Noon. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
