Dennis Nicholas Melnychuk, 70, of Matawan, NJ died February 18, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson Cancer Center, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Born in Chester and raised in Ridley Park, he was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Olga Chawaga Melnychuk. He lived in the Matawan, New Jersey area for the last forty years.
He graduated from Ridley Park High School in 1964, where he played football; and from Widener University in 1969. He was employed as a salesman and retired from ALEDCo, Inc. of Allentown, PA. As a youth, He attended St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Chester, PA. Most recently he was a member of Community Church of Keyport, Keyport, New Jersey.
He is survived by his sons, Marc N. Melnychuk (Kiki) and Christopher J. Melnychuk (Natasha); grandchildren, Alexa, Madeline, Maggie, Daniel and Grace; a brother, Theodore Melnychuk (Kathleen); and a niece/goddaughter, Dr. Jennifer O. Melnychuk.
Dennis had a zest for life. He enjoyed the company others and was always the life of the party. His unique view of the world always brought a smile to those knew him...
Funeral Liturgy: 11:00 AM Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 2412 W. Third St., Chester, PA 19013.
Visitation: 10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
