David A. Grieff, Sr, 89 of Ridley Park died on September 28, 2024. Born in Port Clinton, PA, the son of the late George and Irene Yoder Grieff. He moved to Philadelphia when he was seven years old, then to Ridley Park in 1962.

David was a graduate of John Bartram High School, class of 1952, where he was a standout basketball player, eventually earning him the opportunity to play semi-professional basketball. He proudly served as a medic in the Pennsylvania National Guard during the Korean War. David worked hard all of his life as a Machinist eventually finishing his career at Fibre-Metal where he created and managed the MTD division of the company, until his retirement in 1996. During his tenure at MTD, Dave mentored many apprentices in the field of Mold, Tool and Die making.

He was the loving husband of the late Beatrice J. Knowles Grieff. He was also predeceased by his son, David A Grieff, Jr. and sister, Elaine Newmiller.

David is survived by daughters, Debra Raup-Whiteside (Sam) and Cynthia Trout (Timothy), daughter-in-law, Donna Grieff, Sister, Carol Lloyd (John), Grandchildren, Matthew (Jeanette), Leigh (Andrew), David, III and Daniel (Anastasia), Great-grandchildren, Maizie, Violet, Noella, Remy, Alayna, Logan and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of David's life will take place at 11 am on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N Swarthmore Ave, Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 10 am. Burial will be private.
