David was a graduate of Ridley High School, class of 1975 and also attended St. Joseph University.  He was employed as a Project Engineer at LaFrance Corporation.   David was a pilgrim in the Moose Lodge, where he was a member of the Aston, Willow Grove and Claymont, DE Lodges.  He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion F.A. Scott Post 777 and the Milmont Republican Club.  He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed playing shuffle bowling and darts.

He was the loving husband of 37 years to Donna Merker Grieff, father of David A. Grieff, III and Daniel A. Grieff (Anastasia), son of David A. Grieff, Sr. and the late Beatrice J. Knowles Grieff, brother of Debra A. Whiteside (Sam) and Cynthia C. Trout (Timothy), he is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service and Life Celebration will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, 5101 Governor Printz Blvd., Wilmington, DE 19809 where relatives and friends may call after 11 AM.
