Obituary

David L. Ackenbrack, 74, a lifelong resident of Ridley Park, died on May 21, 2021.  Born in Chester, he was son of the late Roy W.  and Sarah E. Sidner Ackenbrack.
David was a graduate of Ridley High School, class of 1965.  He was a proud veteran of the US Army who served during the Vietnam War.  He served in the Special Forces Co. D, 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry and was awarded a Purple Heart for his service.   He was employed as a printer at Glaxo, Smith, Kline for 25 years before retiring in 2008.  David was a member of Disabled American Veterans and the Church of St. Madeline in Ridley Park.  He loved to travel and collect baseball cards and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.
He was brother of the late Robert J. Ackenbrack.
David is survived by his niece; Christina M. Schreffler (Jim), his nephew; Michael R. Ackenbrack (Jennifer), and his great-nieces and nephews; Kimberly Bovee (Steven), Makayla and Grace Ackenbrack, Ryan and James N. Schreffler.
Funeral Liturgy 11 AM Friday, May 28, 2021 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call after 10 AM.  Burial Immaculate Heart Cemetery.
