Daniel R. Strootman, 56, lifelong resident of Ridley Park, died May 26, 2014 at Lankenau Medical Center. Born in Darby, he was son of the late William G. Strootman.

Daniel was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1976. He worked as a machine operator for 30 years at Huhtamaki and was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church. Daniel enjoyed skiing, fishing, hiking, metal crafting, but most important was his family especially his grandchildren.

Daniel was husband of Mary E. Tashjian Strootman, his wife of 36 years, father of Dawn Marie Hagerty (Shawn) and Elizabeth Dwyer (Jason), son of Margaret Schnell Strootman, brother of Debra Winters, William Strootman, Margaret Strootman, Karl Strootman (Carol), Laura Stockhousen (Ken) and Marie Cassel, grandfather of Samantha, Brandon, Alexander, Bria and Andrea and son-in-law of Helen Tashjian, as well as many other family members.

Funeral Service: 8 PM Monday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call after 7 PM
