Daniel Ross Sr., passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, and is now reunited with his beloved son, Bryan. Dan was born on March 24, 1943, in Chester, Pennsylvania, and spent most of his years as a resident of Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, embodying a spirit of dedication and service that characterized much of his life.
Dan spent over 30 years as a meat cutter for Pathmark Supermarkets, where he became actively involved in his union as a district shop steward. His years of service to his coworkers earned him the opportunity to be hired as a Union Representative for Local 56 of the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union. He took great pride in representing the members of his local, a passion he passed onto to his youngest son, Danny. Dan Sr, proudly retired with dignity from Local 56 in 2004.
An avid outdoorsman, Dan was a long-time member of the Laurel Hill Gun Club in Canton, Pennsylvania and loved hunting and fishing, especially his yearly trip to White Lake, Ontario. He had a special fondness for the sound of bagpipes as his Scottish heritage held a special place in his heart. Dan really valued the time spent with his lifelong friends and his amazing neighbors on Hoffman Road. Moreover, he cherished making memories with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he adored.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Judith A. Ross (nee Cortellini) whom he was inseparable from, his children Tracy A. Martinelli (James), Jennifer L. Welch (Christopher) and Daniel J. Ross, Jr. (Elizabeth), grandchildren Joshua Ross (Erin Duffy), Caitlyn Zepp, Matthew Zepp, Carleigh Zepp, Julia Ross and Skylar Ross, and his great-grandchildren Shawn and Kailyn Duffy as well as numerous nephews and nieces who loved their 'Uncle Dan'.
Predeceased by his son Bryan D. Ross and his siblings William C. Ross, Marie A. Rightnour, Peter T. Ross, Jr., and Mable Jean Ross.
