Obituary

Daniel S. Del Grippo, 71 of Ridley Park (originally from Overbrook), died on July 21, 2023 peacefully at his home surrounded by family.

Dan was a graduate of Overbrook High School, class of 1970 and was a proud veteran of the US Army. Dan was employed by the US Postal Service for 35 years before his retirement in 2006. He was a member of The Church of St. Madeline in Ridley Park and the American Legion. Dan was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed playing softball, basketball, and shuffleboard with his neighborhood friends in his younger years. He loved his place at the Jersey Shore, walking the beach of Avalon, but most importantly he loved always being surrounded by family, especially his cherished grandchildren who were the highlight of his life.

He was the son of the late Daniel T. and Lucy Jamattona Del Grippo, the loving husband of Diane (DeFlorentiis) Del Grippo for 44 years, the beloved father of Daniel J. Del Grippo (Jordan) and Ashley D.Terenick (Michael), the devoted Pop Pop to Andilyn, Daniel, Allyana, Lucius, Michael and Freya. He also was the brother to Drene Borba (Larry), Angela Notte (Anthony), Karen Rechner (John) and Joseph Del Grippo (Jane) and brother-in-law to Cecelia Maguire (Robert) and Linda Dutch (Frank). He is also survived by an aunt, uncle, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews all who truly loved him.

Visitation will be held on July 29, 2023 from 8:30AM to 10:30 AM at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave. Ridley Park. Funeral Mass to follow at 11:15 AM at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the US Department of Veterans Affairs.
