Clara V. Mea O'Brien, 86, of Newark, DE passed away to eternal life peacefully September 30, 2015. Born in Chester, she was the youngest daughter of the late John and Margaret Connor Mea. Clara and Joe, her late husband of 26 years, raised their family in Aston before moving to Delaware 25 years ago.


She graduated from Chester High School, class of 1947 and worked for Bell Telephone Company for 42 years before retiring in 1990. She enjoyed her family and friends, playing cards, beach vacations and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased in death by her brothers, John (Cass), Edward and Joseph Mea; sisters, Ann Haney (Hugh) and Rita Joyce (Bill); and her goddaughter, Marjorie.


Clara was the mother of Joseph W. O'Brien, Jr. and Carol McCann (Joe); grandmother of Joseph McCann III, Karleen Troyan (Jeff), John McCann (A.J.), Brien McCann, Matthew McCann; great grandmother of Isabella, Amelia, Scarlett and Gwenndolyn Troyan; sister-in-law of Helen Mea; also survived by many nieces and nephews.


Memorial Mass: 10:30 AM Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014 where friends may call from 9:30-10:15 AM.


Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery
