Claire L. Heinemeyer, 95 of Ridley Park, died on June 1, 2013 at her home.
Born in Harrisburg, she was a lifelong resident of Ridley Park. She was an art teacher for the Ridley School District at the Eddystone and Lakeview Elementary Schools, retiring in 1980 and prior to that was an accountant for John Wood Company.
Mrs. Heinemeyer was a graduate of Ridley Park High School, class of 1936 and Ursinus College, class of 1940. She was the founder of Kappa Delta Kappa Sorority at Ursinus College and has maintained a round robin letter with her sorority sisters for over 50 years.
Mrs. Heinemeyer was active with the Barn Stormers, Young at Heart Seniors, and the Ridley Park High School Fabulous 40's. She also served on the Ridley Park Shade Tree Committee and was a founding member of the Ridley Park Swim Club. She was an accomplished artist who worked in a variety of media, but specialized in basketry.
Mrs. Heinemeyer was a devoted mother and lover of animals, especially her cats Fluffy, Fuzz, Taffy and Little Person.
She was wife of the late Arthur S.L. Heinemeyer, her husband of 56 years who died in 2002 and daughter of the late Joseph and Cora V. Kuhn Borrell.
Survivors; her daughters Gail L. Heinemeyer and Lee C. Miller (Jerry).
Memorial service 2:00PM Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call after 1:00PM. Burial private.
