Christine Christopoulos Alvanitakis, 83 of Elkton, MD died August 22, 2012 at the Elkton Care Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Chester, she lived in Brookhaven from 1959 to 2008 when she moved to her late residence.
Christine was a Records Supervisor for the Delaware County Prison for 28 years, retiring in 2002.

She was a graduate of Chester High School, Class of 1947. Christine was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, the Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope.

She was also an avid Eagles fan, loved watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, solving crossword puzzles and cryptograms and also making Greek pastries and summer vacations at the beach with her family.

She was wife of the late George J. Alvanitakis, her husband of 48 years who died April 4, 1999 and daughter of the late Thomas and Paraskevi Dokos Christopoulos.

She is mother of Annette Vanaskey (George), John Alvanitakis (Bobbie) and Thomas Alvanitakis; grandmother of George, Jr. and Krista Vanaskey, John J., Stacey, Steffin and Teresa Alvanitakis and Meghan Vendetti and sister of Gus Christopoulos and Helen Christake.

Funeral Service 11:00AM Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 30 E. Forge Rd., Media, PA 19063 (Middletown Township). Burial Chester Rural Cemetery. Visitation 6:30 to 8:30PM Monday with Trisagion at 7:30PM at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston and after 10:00AM Tuesday at the Church.
