Dr. Chris T. Jelepis 89 of Exton, died June 22, 2021 at Brandywine Hospital.
Born in Cleveland, OH he lived in West Chester before moving to Exton eight years ago.
Chris served as Superintendent of Schools in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey before becoming a Professor in the Business Dept. at Drexel University. He retired in 1983 and continued teaching history part-time to Exton Seniors at Immaculata College.
Chris was a graduate of Case Western University and the University of Akron where he earned his Doctorate in Education Administration. He also served 4 years in the U.S. Navy as a radar operator on the destroyer U.S.S. Bristol.
He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, the Helenic University Club and was formerly the Choir Director at St. Luke's Greek Orthodox Church.
Chris loved music, playing the piano, cello and the accordion. He also was an avid reader and loved writing children's books. He enjoyed world travel, especially to Mexico for the beach and sun, and to France to spend time with his son and grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Thomas and Maria Mavrikis Jelepis; brother of the late James Jelett, Leonard and Michael Jelepis and grandfather of the late Alexi Soutos.
Chris was the loving husband of Jeanette P. Lott Jelepis, his wife of 61 years; his children Michael C. Jelepis, Jennifer M. Soutos (Alex) and Christopher D. Jelepis (Dana); his sister Becky Giakoumatos (James); also, his grandchildren Jaime Soutos, Cia Jelepis, CJ Jelepis and Eleni Jelepis.
Funeral Service 11:00AM Monday, June 28, 2021 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 30 E. Forge Rd., Media, PA 19063 where relatives and friends may call after 10:00AM. Burial Edgewood Memorial Park.
Memorial gifts may be made to the above church or the Williams-Syndrome Association.
