Obituary

Charles O. Turner, 95, of Ridley Park, died on June 23, 2023, born in Philadelphia to the late Leidy and Earlie Carter Turner, he lived in Darby before moving to Ridley Park in 2007.

Charles proudly served in the US Army for 20 years, he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars before retiring from the military in 1965.  After his retirement he was employed by John Wanamaker and Strawbridge & Clothier Department Stores.  He was a member of Ridley Park Presbyterian Church and was an avid Phillies fan.

Charles was the loving husband of Elaine Martin Turner, brother of Russell B. Turner and the late Raymond Turner, Earl Turner and Viola Kemp, he is also survived by special sisters-in-law Carolyn Washington and Janet Woodard, brother-in-law Herbert Martin (Loretta), sisters-in-law Pamela Wells and Gloria Morris, a special nephew Theodore Morris, Jr., other nieces and nephews and a dear friend Walter Brown.

Funeral Service 10:30 AM Friday, June 30, 2023 at Ridley Park Presbyterian Church, 300 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call 9:15 to 10:15 AM.  Burial Fernwood Cemetery.
