Obituary

Charles A. Righter, 92, of Ridley Park died December 15, 2020 at his home.  Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Harry and Elizabeth Boyle Righter and resided in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia before moving to his late residence in 1961.

Charles was a graduate of Southeast Catholic High School for Boys, class of 1946.  He was employed by the University of Pennsylvania as a Superintendent of Preventative Maintenance before retiring in 1992.  Charles was a member of the Church of St. Madeline.  He was a former assistant coach of the Ridley Park Athletic Club and enjoyed many years with the St. Gabriel's Bowling League, but most important was his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret A. "Peggy" Pitts Righter, who died November 8, 2012; his son, Charles J. Righter, who died June 7, 1971; his granddaughter, Jaclyn Righter; and his siblings, Sally Foy, Bette Righter, Jean Ketterlinus, Joseph, Harry, Bill, Frank and Ed Righter.

Charles is survived by his children, Peggy Righter Milligan (Bob Malone), Jack Righter (Ronna) and Chris Tait (Jeff); his sister, Mary Bradley; his grandchildren, Colleen, Danielle, Lauren, Christopher, Ryan and Jessica; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass:    10:30 AM Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA, where relatives and friends may call from 9-10:15 AM

Burial:  SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery
