Charles "Chuck" E. Harrison, proud veteran of Vietnam and longtime resident of Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on June 19, 2023 at the age of 80.
Chuck was born in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Charles L. and Kathleen Glennan Harrison and raised on Maple Street in Visco Village, Marcus Hook.
He attended St. James High School before serving in the U.S. Army from 1965 to1967. Chuck returned home and spent over 30 years at Scott Paper Company followed by 8 years at the US Postal Service until his retirement in 2005.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his time as a member of Penn Oaks Country Club and yearly golf trips to the Carolinas. If he wasn't playing golf, you were sure to find him watching it, or the Phillies, on television. He also never missed a crossword puzzle in the Sunday paper.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Varela Harrison; his children Kim Tombasco (Charlie), Kristin Harrison (Doug) and Charles A. Harrison; grandchildren A.J., Jackson and Lila; his sisters Dorothy Harrison and Marie Watson; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Frank Harrison, brother-in-law, Gary Watson, and niece, Amanda Gommer.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Church, 21 W. Eighth Street, Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania where relatives and friends may call after 10:00AM. Burial private.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to the American Humane Pups4Patriots program.
