Obituary

Charles E. Ewart, Jr., 84

Of Folsom, died December 25, 2010 at Vitas Hospice at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.

Born in Markleysburg, PA, he was a resident ot Folsom for sixty one years.


He graduated from German Township High School. He was an operator in the Wax Packaging Plant at Sun Oil Company for 33 years retiring in 1983 he also worked in the Pro-Shop at Springfield County Club for 24 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star; World War II Victory Medal; Army of Occupation Medal with Japan Clasp; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star; Honorable Service Lapel Button WW II and a Marksman Badge. He was a member of the Sun Sapphire Club. Mr. Ewart was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed gardening, most important to him was being with family and friends.


Mr. Ewart was son of the late Charles E. and Thelma B. Umble Ewart and brother of the late Ronald Ewart, Carl Ewart, Ann Price and Gladys McGuire.


Survivors: wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen Torris Ewart, children, Patricia White (Robert) and David C. Ewart both of Folsom, John J. Ewart of Houston, TX and Kathleen DiCampli of Norwood: grandchildren Kristy, Robin, Kim, Jackie and Lauren and four great-grandchildren.


Funeral Service 10 AM Thursday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park where friends my call after 9 AM. Burial Edgewood Memorial Park
