Charles C. "Chas" Begley, Sr., 84 of Swarthmore died on June 30, 2024, at his home. Born and raised in Chester, the son of the late John and Rose Breslin Begley, he had been a resident of Swarthmore for the past 37 years. Chas attended St. Michael's Elementary School and St. James High School.

Before his retirement, he was employed as an Industrial Painter in the Painter's Union Local 921. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Chas was the greatest father any child could ask for. He loved spending time with his family, working on and driving antique cars, fishing, and making precious memories at Beachcomber and the boardwalk in Wildwood NJ with his wife and kids. In his later years he loved tending to his tomato garden, lounging in his hammock, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church and the Irish American Association. Chas was a kind and caring soul who was always willing to help anyone in need. His presence will be missed dearly, and the memories will last a lifetime. We love you.

He was the loving husband of 49 years to Sharon M. Searles Begley, devoted father of Kristin Gaffney (James) and Charles Christopher Begley, Jr. (Alexis), cherished grandfather of Joey, Kara and Justin Gaffney and Charles Christopher "Charlie" Begley III. He was the brother of the late Michael Begley, Mary Woelkers, John Begley, Patrick Begley, Dennis Begley, Manus Begley, James Quinn, and Thomas Quinn, and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, July 12th, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park. Private burial.
