Cathy McGurk Brady, 62, of Southwest Philadelphia, died October 26, 2018 at her home. She was the daughter of Lucy Mango Mongelli and the late Ralph C. Mongelli.

Cathy was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls, class of 1973, and was a member of and lector at Divine Mercy R.C. Church, formerly Good Shepherd. Early in her life, she worked for Eastern Airlines and the BP Oil Refinery, before spending 20 years as a union organizer and Vice President at SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania. Most recently, Cathy was a Commissioner for the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service in Trenton, NJ. Cathy was a member of the Friends of Elmwood Park, and spearheaded the development and installation of The Labor Monument: Philadelphia's Tribute to the American Worker in Philadelphia.

Cathy was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph A. McGurk, Jr. and James J. McGurk.

She was the mother of Machele Kortum (Ron) and Thomas A. Brady; grandmother of Lux and Cash Kortum; sister of Margie Kelly (Paul Tedesco), Barbara Hanes (Bob), Janice Johnston (Gary), Maria Stearns, John McGurk (Ranay), Robert McGurk (Dee), and Michael McGurk (Frankie); sister-in-law of Sue McGurk; also survived by 27 nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6:00-9:00 PM Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078 and 9:30-10:30 AM Friday, at church.
