Catherine F. Pomerleau Powers, 93, of Wallingford died May 21, 2016 at Taylor Hospice Residence. Born in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Grace Barrett Pomerleau and resided in Ridley Park before moving to her late residence seven years ago.
Catherine was a member of the Church of St. Madeline in Ridley Park for 52 years. At the start of WWII, she was promoted to manager at North Western Insurance Co. Catherine enjoyed shows about animals and the Kentucky Derby. She loved reading, doing the NY Times puzzle books, traveling to visit with her sisters and the NJ shore. Most important was time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren. Catherine's family would like to thank Taylor Hospice Residence for the loving care during the last three months.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward E. Powers, who died in 1996 after 46 years of marriage; her son, Edward Powers; and her sister, Jane Yost.
Survivors: mother of Kathy Powers, Terry Polenski, Gerry Tierney (John) and Eileen Hyland (Tim); her sister, Mary Lou Juberg; also her seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
