Obituary

Catherine R. Murphy Fries, 75, of Ridley Park, died January 15, 2019. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Loretta Loughren Murphy and resided in Collingdale before moving to her late residence 30 years ago.

Catherine was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls, class of 1961 and was employed as a Bookkeeper for the Deck at Harbor Point until she retired in 2016. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, was an expert in IT, loved working, was an avid reader and a great supporter of the Armed Forces of the USA, but most important was her grand and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Quinn, Michael, John and Loretta Murphy.

Catherine was mother of Kimberly and Deborah Fries; sister of Maryann Moore, James Quinn, also William, Joseph, Francis, Patricia and Maryann; Nan to Michael, Ciara Anne and Dominique and her great grandchildren, MJ, Jr. and Myla Catherine.

Funeral Mass: 10 AM Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022, where relatives and friends may call from 8:45-9:45 AM.

Burial: Private
