Devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother


Catherine "Katie" Eva Smith, 85, a longtime resident of Ridley Park, passed peacefully on, August 20, 2011, at Prospect Park Health and Rehabilitation Center.


Employed as a seamstress, Catherine retired from Rob Ann's Sportswear in Chester. She was a member of the Ridley Park Senior Club and New Life Club. Katie enjoyed cooking her favorite Polish meals, polka music and dancing, family get togethers and going to the casino.


She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Frank W. Smith, two sons Ronald Smith (Linda) and Francis Smith (Neva), her daughter Carol Pletnick (Todd), also survived by her grandchildren Matt and Kira Smith.


Funeral Mass: 1 PM Tuesday at The Church of St. Madeline, Penn Street and Morton Avenue, Ridley Park


Visitation: after 12 Noon at the church

Burial: SS Peter & Paul Cemetery
