Carmen A. Vona, 79, of Ridley Park died on June 19, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late John and Stella (née D'Orazio) Vona, he lived in South Philadelphia before moving to Ridley Park in 1979.

Carmen was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church and was employed as a cutter in the textile industry for many years. He loved playing cards, going to the racetrack, Frank Sinatra music, old movies and classic cars, but most important was his family, especially his granddaughter and great-grandchildren.

Carmen was the loving husband of the late Louise P. Toombs Vona, father of the late John Vona and Rocco J. Granato. He is survived by his granddaughter and caregiver Erica Zappo (Nick), his great-grandchildren Danica, Nicholas and Liam Zappo, his nephew Anthony (Kim) and their sons Nico, Rocky and Sonny, also survived by many cousins.

Funeral Mass 10 AM Thursday, June 23, 2022 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, where relatives and friends may call 9:00 to 9:45 AM. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
